What the hell? Tell your friend he’s being a douchebag and he’s overanalyzing everything. The only thing you can really criticize about this episode is the ending. It was very predictable to me that Walt would be able to free himself because Heisenberg is an evil genius and at this point he’s in control so even if he’s pushed against the wall, he’s going to find a way to get what he wants. He’s too smart to allow a piece of plastic keep him away from that methlamin (sp?) - Mike had to find something to really restrain him. But the biggest thing is the most obvious - if Mike sells Walt’s methlamin, the show is pretty much over and Walt has nothing.
Still, it was SO satisfying to see Walt regain control over Mike. You KNEW he was going to find a way to free himself, and it was great to see him do it and then it was even better to see that smirk at the end of the episode when he said “everybody wins”. Mike may have had a gun to Walt’s head, but Walt is once again in control - the ultimate manipulator that Heisenberg has become.
I don’t buy into all of his criticisms, BUT it did make me think about Mike doing things very uncharacteristically.
Think about it:
1.) His vetting process has slipped to the point that a newbie is brining a firearm to a job (which he carelessly handles in a pair of bulky work gloves).
2.) He then lets newbie slip away with the only shred of evidence (the jarred tarantula).
2.) He’s publicly aligned himself with Saul, which makes him guilty in the eyes of the DEA.
3.) In his new deal with Walt, he accepts the bill for “legacy pay.”
4.) And MOST importantly, he has given away the fact–TO HIS TOP COMPETITOR–that he is directly working with Heisenberg.
SOOOOO…Does anyone want to talk about last nights episode?????
